tomato rasam

Ingredients 

Rasam Powder - 1 spoon
lemon sized imly    squeezed and extracted water - 2 cups
tomato  - 1 
salt   to taste
hing 1 tsp 
 boiled mashed thuvar dhal ka pani - 1 cup

 ghee 1 /2 tsp 
mustard seeds -1/2 tsp for seasoning...
curry leaves and coriander leaves 

Rasam Powder preparation:

 Ingredients:
3 cups dhaniya 
1 cup thuvar dhal
1 cup  black pepper corn
1/2 cup Jeera 
1/4 th cup mustard seeds 
  1/2 cup red chillie powder 
1/4th cup turmeric powder..

 dry roast  dhaniya,thuvar dhal,pepper ,jeera,and musturd seeds seperately ...
 now grind it into a fine powder  add chillie powder and turmeric powder... mix well cool down and store in air tight container. u can use store this for 6 mnths or so...

 now for the rasam (sathuamadhu as we call it...)
 


  boil the imly water with salt and hing for abt 7mts.. then slit the tomato and add it , add 2 spoons of rasam powder and simmer and boil for another 5mts .. now add dhal ka pani and simmer it ...  season rai with ghee  and add to rasam, add curry leaves and coriander leaves and switch off the stove when it starts boiling .(let it not boil.. jsut switch off when it starts to boil...)

 nothing like rasam +rice  with beans  karamathu!!!
